Did they say why? I think this post brings up unanswerable questions and undeniable facts. If I were a republican running for office, I might ask you remove it
too because I wouldn't know how to explain this woman as a serious choice.

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head, Timber.
It's a local office he's running for but it's important to him so as a friend, I agreed to remove it. (sigh) (Edited for a typo) |

Oh c'mon, Christina....with the amount of traffic this board is getting, what is your "friend" worried about??

Yeah, I don't quite understand it myself but he's always been one of those "picky" people if that makes sense.

Well, I sort of feel like even at this point in time, Republicans seem to want parent us that don't agree with them.
I'm afraid I'd have to leave the post, even if it were a friend. I'm tired of being shushed. Don't you feel like the Republicans are he parents driving the car and we are all the lined up in the back seat being told to sit still? I find the request invalidating. |

I agree with you. Totally.
The party didn't used to be like that before which is exactly why I've become increasingly disenchanted them... |

Oh, and I thought this was interesting: | ||

WHO AM I?
I am under 45 years old. I love the outdoors. I hunt. I am a Republican reformer. I have taken on the Republican Party establishment. I have many children. I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor's office. Have you ever heard of me before now? I am Teddy Roosevelt. |

It sure makes for interesting times when you're considered the "mainstream"
I really hope Obama wins... |

Oh, that cutesy comparison left out some facts.
Teddy Roosevelt was a graduate of the same college Obama was, Harvard. He went on to Columbia but did not graduate. He was the author of 35 books, was the Assistant Commander of the Navy and a Nobel Prize winner. He prepared for and advocated for the war with Spain. He was a Govenor but so much more. To compare him because of a few commonalities with Palin is like slapping his face. When I was 45, I loved the outdoors, I had many children, I took on the Republican party, blah blah blah. You see what I mean? To even offer this up as some kind of ahhhh-haaa gotcha information, is pathetic. Read Roosevelts bio and then compare it to Palins. You spit in the face of a great man. |

Palin did better than I thought she would at the VP debate, but that's not saying much.
I think Biden was impressive, intelligent, and I like the way he handled Palin. He was in a hard spot. If he was too hard on Palin, he would have come across as a 'bully of women'. He focused on McCain and let Palin 'by golly' her way to our last nerve. Not to mention her self admitted avoidance of the questions. Unless something huge happens, I don't see Obama losing this election, even with the smear campaign going on right now. I was far from an Obama supporter when this campaign began, but he has won me over. |

She is antagonisitic, I think. It's like she came to debate armed with the fact she is a woman, that she has little education or experience, she has a
Downs Sydrome baby on her hip, a son going to Iraq, a pregnant teenaged daughter.... that's alot of armor. It takes are real wise person to debate her and
not fall into any of her snares.
If I could get past her slaughter of the English Language (especially since she majored in communications) I might consider her politics. She can't seem to pronounce he G's. Aside from Sarah Palin, I can't stand women who use their gender that way. It infuriates me that if you pass a contruction site, the women are always flagging the traffic and the men are in the ditch. Same money. If I were a female laborer, I'd insist on my ditch time. I have to say that in my profession, the male nurses I work with are awesome. I felt so bad for Joe Biden when the comment was made about not knowing what it was like to raise children alone. I am certain NO ONE would hit that low below the belt. His entire family was in a horrible car accident that killed his first wife and 18 month old daughter and his sons were nearly killed. He raise them alone until he remarried. I'd like to see some respect. I will entertain most any idea if it is presented respectfully. I did not see Biden once speak to her with anything less than a repectful tone. He knows how to attack an issue without reducing it to a slang fest. Who the hell is Joe six pack anyway? Is that the idea she has of the typical American? As she winks and flirts with the men, like any smart beauty pagent contestant, I heard no mention of Sally six pack. |

She's insulting to BOTH men and women.
Can you imagine referring to accomplished and educated men as "Joe six pack?" Can you imagine referring to accomplished and educated women as "Pit bulls with lipstick?" Then imply that if you can't relate to those terms that you must be out of touch? Wow is all I can say to that kind of mindset.... |

On a serious note, I'm leaving for Europe next week--it will be REALLY interesting to hear what some of the other countries think about Sarah Palin...
(I'll be back in time to vote though!) |
